Devil’s Staircase

The Devil’s Staircase is almost a 10km trek from Bambarakanda Falls to Horton Plains Road in Ohiya. This route is famous fo being a route with daring twists and turning earring its rather frightening name. It is a wonderful trek with unparalleled views in an isolated area of Sri Lanka. This excursion includes a viewing of Bambarakanda Falls (263 meters), the tallest waterfall in Sri Lanka. The trail that spans from Bambarakanda Falls to Ohiya is considered one of the most scenic treks in Sri Lanka. One of the unique and popular points in the trek is the “V cut”, a narrow channel cut through a hill to allow the road to the panorama in the Udaweriya Estate on the way to Ohiya, the destination.

Unveiling the Journey

Leave the glenrock at 6:00 am by vehicle. Reach Bambarakanda Falls at 7:00 am.
Spend 40 minutes viewing Bambarakanda Falls.
Start trek from Bambarakanda Falls to Ohiya at 7:40 am. (10 km trek – 4-hour duration)
Leave Ohiya by vehicle, for the glenrock around noon.
Arrive back at the glenrock around 1:45 pm and have great lunch, rest, relax, and enjoy inside resort
activities.

(Up to a maximum of 3 or 2 adults with 2 children below 11 years)
If the distance traveled exceeds 130 km, additional charges of USD 0.55 per extra kilometer apply.
